The Yorkshire Lawyer Awards 2010 - Celebrating a decade of excellence

Yorkshire Cancer Research

Yorkshire Cancer Research is an independent regional medical research charity that funds internationally recognised research at universities in Bradford, Hull, Leeds, Sheffield and York. Our funding enables scientists from across the world to bring their expertise to our region.

Yorkshire Cancer Research has been funding research into cancer in all its forms for the last 85 years and every year we gain greater knowledge and understanding of the disease. This has led to improved patient benefits and moved us a step closer to achieving our goal, which is a world without cancer.

Over the next few years we have committed £11million to fund research across the region and throughout 2010 we will be staging events such as our Space Hopper “Bounce for Sheffield” and Pedal for Pounds cycle rides to help ensure we meet our commitments.

This is only possible because of the continued, generous support of the people of Yorkshire who have worked tirelessly over the years by donating their time, effort and money to enable us to continue our fight against cancer.
